1. PART OF THE DIOCESE OF ST ASAPH

Penedeyrn Mission Area

The Penedeyrn Mission Area comprises seven churches that have come together to share resources and work alongside each other in the task of spreading the good news of Jesus and serving the local community. Located in a beautiful and rural part of North Wales, the Mission Area incorporates the following churches: St Mary Magdalene, Cerrigydrudion, St John the Evangelist, Cynwyd, St Trillo's, Llandrillo, St Michael's, Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, Christ Church, Bala, St Catherine's, Maerdy and St Derfel's, Llandderfel. It also serves the old parishes of Ysbyty Ifan, Bettws Gwerfil Goch, Llangwm, Llawr y Bettws, Llanuwchllyn, Rhos y Gwalia and Fron Goch. Established in 2018, the Mission Area takes its place among 21 others in the Diocese of St Asaph—and many more across Wales. The creation of Mission Areas is just one part of a greater vision to serve community, inspire people and transform church as the Church in Wales reaches its centenary in 2020. You can read more about that vision and the ways it is being realised here.
